Problem:

To explain the potential problems, risks and side effects that a number of dam projects along the Mekong river would have, it was necessary to visualize the various before-and-after scenarios in 3D and 2D animations. The graphical explainer animations were needed as additional information segments to complement the actual video footage.

 

Solution:

To visualize and animate the segments the problems had to be broken down into a visual concept that simplified the essence of the scientific data in a simple and clear visual language. The resulting mixed-media documentation was a tremendous success and raised the environmental issues to national and international media attention, resulting in a dialog with the involved stakeholders and government representatives.
